Hey everyone. As all of you know we have been trying to keep track of loot and raiding time for our DKP system. This post will hopefully let everyone know what system we are using and the current standing of everyone who has raided with us in the last 5 weeks.

The DKP system we will be using EPGP, which stands for Effort points/Gear Points. The way is works is this: you gain effort points by raiding and killing bosses (EP) and you gain gear points by receiving gear. (GP) your current DKP standing is calculated by dividing your effort points by your gear points. So the more your raid and down bosses the better chance you have to be on top of a roll. The more gear you roll on will lower you in the standings fairly quickly as well. so it us up to you to make sure you keep the balance right.


We will be awarding EP at 500 points per hour raided as well as 500 for each boss kill. So a night like last Tuesday would earn you in the neighborhood of 4000 EP (4 hours and 4 bosses) Earlier weeks would earn 2500 (4 hours 1 boss)

Gear points are calculated like this:

The base value for an iLvl 264 item is 550 (this is based on an odd calculation given by the addon) that number is multiplied by the slot the item goes into.

2.0x for a 2 handed weapon
1.5x for a 1 handed weapon (a hunter bow counts here)
1.0x for a head, chest, legs
0.75x for shoulder, hands, waist, feet, trinket
0.5x for wrist, neck, back, finger, off hand, shield wand
2.0x for trophies

To make things a little more complicated, these points decay. Meaning once per week you lose 10% of both tour EP and GP. This by itself should not be a concern because after the decay your standing is identical to its previous value. What it does do is 2 things.

1) keeps numbers from getting out of control

2) prevents point hording. Because the longer your old points sit in your account without being used they become worth less than points currently being awarded this week. This gives newcomers a chance to catch up. (I am not explaining this well...ask me in vent if you don't understand what I am trying to say)

The only rule we have for newcomers is that they earn 5000 EP before they are allowed to roll on an item. Should easily be attainable in a couple of raids.

These are the current standings based on the attendance/gear we have recorded from raids. If there is a glaring error...please do not panic... let us know I am sure it can be fixed.

hey thunder, I think it'd be good to point out..that the ranking is determined by the EFFORT POINTS (the left number), divided by the GEAR points (right number). This number determines the rank, just wanted to say that incase anyone was confused by the ordering of the list that you have uploaded so far, the order posted does not reflect the actual order once divided at the moment.

Also as stated thank you for sorting this out, it is much appreciated by me at least, I should be on tonight but I have to drive over to my parents town to get online, I wont have interwebs in my house until friday =P

Thanks Matty, I knew I would forget something.

I would also like to point out that the minimum amount of EP required to earn loot will likely change a little with our schedule. We believe that a week of raiding should be required to be able to roll. So eventually if/when we go to a 3 day 25 man raiding schedule, expect this number to go to about 10-12k
